Colour is at the centre of everything.
Moving between flat surfaces and three-dimensional forms, paint, fabric and straw marquetry are used to explore composition, balance and how a painting or object can transform the feeling of a room.

Most paintings begin with a found or reclaimed frame, whose proportions, colour and character help shape the artwork within. Painting onto the frame begins to blur the boundary between the work and the room it inhabits. When left untouched, the frame’s detail and history create a deliberate contrast with the abstract painting inside.

Into the Limelight and Out of the Limelight by Eleanor Nadimi, an abstract square painting with layered frames of cream, taupe, fluorescent yellow and black.

Eltham Screen combines painted forms with the natural lustre of rye straw, while the reverse is finished with hand-painted stripes. Designed to be enjoyed from both sides, the screen creates separation within a room while remaining an artwork in its own right.

Each screen is made to order, with colour, scale and design completely customisable.

Painting, textiles and marquetry offer different ways to explore colour, surface and composition. Each transforms a surface in its own way, creating new possibilities across flat artworks and three-dimensional objects.

Straw marquetry has a natural luminosity, shifting as you move around it, catching light in a way that feels almost liquid. Each strand is split, flattened and placed by hand in Eleanor’s London studio, building colour through reflection rather than pigment.
